An automated carton opening, packing and sealing system efficiently erects flat blanks, loads products, and seals boxes in a single continuous line to maximize throughput and consistency.
The carton opening packing sealing system is an integrated industrial solution designed to automate the process of forming boxes, loading products into them and sealing them for shipment or retail.
The primary goal of this system is to take flat carton blanks, erect them into boxes, fill them with specific products (bottles, pouches, trays, loose items) and seal them ready for palletizing. Modern systems often integrate AI vision systems, collaborative robots and IoT connectivity for real-time monitoring.

Magazine Loading: Flat carton blanks are loaded into a magazine or hopper.
Suction & Formation: Vacuum cups pick up a single blank, open it and fold the bottom flaps.
Bottom Sealing: The bottom flaps are sealed using hot melt adhesive, tape or interlocking folds (crash-lock bottoms).
Conveyance: The erected open box is transferred to the packing station via a conveyor chain or belt.

This is the most variable stage, depending on the product type:
Top Load: Products are dropped vertically into the box (common for bottles, cans or grouped items). This often uses robotic pick-and-place arms or gravity chutes.
Side Load: Products are pushed horizontally into the box (common for fragile items or trays).
Robotic Integration: Advanced systems use 4-axis or 6-axis robots equipped with vision systems to identify product orientation and gently place irregular items into the carton.
Buffering: Infeed conveyors often include accumulation tables to synchronize product flow with box arrival.

Once filled, the carton moves to the sealing station:
Flap Folding: Mechanical arms or plows fold the minor and major top flaps.
Sealing Methods:
Hot Melt Glue: The most common method for high-speed lines; offers strong, instant bonds.
Tape Sealing: Uses pressure-sensitive tape (BOPP or PVC); preferred for lower speeds or where heat is a concern.
Stitching/Stapling: Used for heavy-duty industrial boxes.
Compression: Belts on the top and bottom compress the box briefly to ensure the adhesive sets correctly.

Q1: Cartoner vs. Case Packer?
Q2: What products can it handle?
Q3: Is changeover difficult?
A: No. Modern servo systems allow size changes in 5–15 mins via touchscreen, often tool-free.
Q4: Sealing methods?
Q5: Can it connect to other machines?
